Hello, my name is***** and I have over 20 years of experience as a veterinarian. I am sorry to hear that Star ingested Tomcat Mouse Killer II.

How long ago did this occur?

How much did she eat?

What is the active ingredient listed on the box?

How much does she weigh?

How is she behaving now?

Do you have 3% hydrogen peroxide readily available?

I see that you have gone offline.

My hope is that you are getting your girl to an emergency veterinary clinic.

Tomcat Mouse Killer II contains bromethalin, which is a newer rodenticide that is extremely dangerous. We do not have an antidote for this rodenticide. It is a neurotoxin that causes brain swelling and permanent damage that can quickly lead to death.

Common signs to watch for include:

lethargy, drunk-like behavior, changes in pupil size, altered levels of consciousness, tremors, seizures and possible death

If she isn't showing symptoms yet inducing vomiting and giving activated charcoal to prevent absorption is best. The sooner she is treated the better. Once any symptoms start chances of recovery is very slim.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
