hello and thank you for using this site to help you. It is very possible that if this happened after the application that it did cause hair loss. Sometimes it depends on how you apply it. It is not applied like other spot on treatments where it is put on in certain spots, it needs to be applied in a line up the spine from the tail to the neck. However even when applies correctly it is a toxin and some dogs are allergic to these medications. Another source of baldness such as this can be due to a flea allergy. IF the dog had been bitten by one flea , this can cause an allergic reaction. A dog is actually allergic to the flea's saliva. Once bitten it can cause a severe reaction. Your best bet would be to call your vet because if it is from the flea product , then you want that in the dog's chart for the future. Also your vet will best know how to treat it if it is an allergy or a reaction to the meds.

also a new product that works similar to the spot on drops is the Seresto collar. This works in the same fashion as far as killing fleas and ticks , but it is in collar form. It an cost from 40 to 60 dollars but it lasts for 8 months. Do talk to your vet about this other alternative. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=25802&t=1&ref=4131&subref=AA&cmpid=PPC-B-4131
