Hello,I am sorry to hear your boy is having some trouble. I would love to help I just have a few questions so I can better assist you. Please understand I try to ask all relevant questions at one time, however your reply may prompt a few more. Since I am unable to see your pet I must rely on information.

How long has this been going on?

When did you switch his food?

Any vomiting?

Customer replied 285 days and 15 hours ago.

I am dog sitting him and he has an eating schedule with his own food, I saw him eating some of my dog's food yesterday but I didnt think it was a big deal. no vomiting as of yet, he did not eat his evening meal last night and did not go potty. This morning he went poo twice and it was solid, I tried to get him to eat his regular food and he wouldn't, so I added a handful of kibbles and bits, and still wouldnt eat, I tried pouring a couple of drops of gravy on top to get his attention and he still would not take it, I took him out a third time, and this time it was watery diarrhea,

Thank you for the additional information .

There are a few possible things going on here.

* Change in food. Even eating a small amount of food that they are not used to can cause stomach upset and diarrhea

* Stress. Many pets when they are boarded or the owner goes away can develop a stress colitis.

* Eating something you are unaware of

* Intestinal parasites.

I would suggest not giving him of the kibble and bits or adding gravy to his food that he is not used to prevent further problems. For now you can try Pepto bismol to help with the diarrhea and any stomach upset. This is dosed at 1 teaspoon per 20lbs of body weight every 8 hours as needed. This can cause constipation so only use it until the stool firms up. I would also pull all dog food and offer boiled chicken and rice for the next 2 days. This is easily digested , will allow the stomach to rest and will help with the diarrhea.

If he continues to refuse to eat even the bland diet, has any vomiting or declines in any way then he should be seen by a vet. Hopefully this is just do to him getting in to your dogs food and the bland diet and Pepto will help.

Please reply back if you have additional questions and I will be happy to help.
