Please understand I try to ask all relevant questions at one time, however your reply may prompt a few more. Since I am unable to see your pet I must rely on information.

Is he currently on any medications?

Any existing health problems?

Can you see any swelling in the leg?

Is he walking on the leg at all?

Thank you for the additional information.

f he is not on any medications then Aspirin can be used short term to help with the pain. This is dosed at 5 mgs per pound of body weight every 12 hours. This can cause stomach upset so I would suggest giving with food. If he has any vomiting or stops eating I would suggest contacting your vet to ask for a stronger pain medication, just be sure to tell them that you have used aspirin as this will prevent them from giving certain medications.

You want to keep an eye out for any swelling. If this is not better in a few days or the aspirin is not helping I would suggest having your vet take a look at him. I would try to limit his activity to potty breaks only for the next 4-5 days no running and no stairs.

I hope this helps and he feels better soon. Please reply back if you have additional questions or concerns
