Can clindamycin be used to treat an ear infection for a dog

Hello, and thanks for writing in.

To answer your question - yes, clindamycin can be used for ear infections in dogs (if the infection is bacterial, and is susceptible to clindamycin). But, there are better antibiotics to use for bacterial ear infections in dogs (i.e. Baytril, Zenequin, Orbax). In addition, ear drops are usually needed to treat ear infections in dogs, especially if there is a yeast component to the infection, or any inflammation present.

You can read a good article on ear infections in dogs HERE.

I hope this helps.
