My female GSD has completed surgery for twisted stomach. Vet says she has a temperature and fluid in lungs. They don't seemupset and feel strong antibotics and oxygen will be the cure. On the 9th at 3:30 i fed her 1 hour later she was bloated and sick. I hadher to my vet in 15 minutes, they examined her and referred me to a surgical center 30 minutes later. By 6:00 p.m. she had completedsurgery, and was thought to be ok...then the fluid and temp problems. what are her chances she is 6 years old.
Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and would be glad to help!
Has the fluid been tested? aspirated?
not sure
she walks on lease to go to bathroom
A prognosis can not be given here.
If there is fluid present, it should be tested...
- Is the fluid from inflammation from surgery?
- Is it an infection and a concern for sepsis?
- Is it from low protein levels?
i think from the surgery
You wont know unless a sample is obtained and tested.
I will re-phrase.
no infection
There is NO WAY to know without testing the fluid.
ok thanks will call vet
You are very welcome.
