Dr. Andy :

Welcome to JustAnswer! I would be happy to assist you. I am a 2003 graduate from UC Davis and a Medical Director of a 4 veterinarian practice.

Dr. Andy :

Hello

Dr. Andy :

Depends on a lot of variables

Dr. Andy :

1. Is the vet doing it or do they need to call a specialist. Huge difference in cost

Dr. Andy :

2. Are they wanting to scan the entire belly or just look at the bladder

Dr. Andy :

With a specialist scanning entire abdomen, cost could be $300-450.

Dr. Andy :

With your vet doing entire abdomen, cost could be $200-300

Dr. Andy :

If only looking at bladder, some vets will only charge an extra $50-75 to look at bladder

Dr. Andy :

Often, with a recurrent urinary tract infection, antibiotics need to be given for at least 3-4 weeks. So, may be the duration of first antibiotic was simply not long enough. Happens all of the time when the vet doesn't prescribe long enough or when the client does not give the medication as directed.

Dr. Andy :

Hope that info helps

Dr. Andy :

Good Luck
