My dog ate breath mints containing sorbitol, how do I need to treat her?

Hello and Thank You for contacting JustAnswer

I am sorry your baby ate the breath mints.

Can you tell me what brand the breath mints were?

Did she vomit any up?

Breath Savers, in a 1.27oz container. There were maybe 3 gone, and 1 left. So she maybe ate 10? She did not throw any up before we discovered she had eaten them. My husband is walking her now (we gave her peroxide).

Sorbitol is non toxic and is actually used in some pet toothpastes.

This does have a laxative effect if consumed in large amount so you may see some diarrhea other then that there should be no problems.

I hope this has helped ease your mind that your girl should be fine.
