Customer Question

I accidently poked my dog in the eye with my fingernail a week ago....eye does not seem to bother him, although there is now some discharge in the corners of both eyes. I have been bathing his eyes in saline. Can I also use polysporin eye drops.

Dear friend,

I am sorry Max got hurt.

Do not use any human eye drops in his eye.

If you think it is irritated continue to rinse with he plain saline.

You can also apply a damp teabag. The tanic acid in the tea will soothe an also reduce the PH of his tears.

You can ask the pharmacist for an eye ointment that is safe for dogs.

If Max develops any cloudiness or redness in his eye his vet should take a look.

Please let me know how your boy is doing.

I hope he will be just fine.

Warmest best wishes,

Terri
