My dog weighs 60 pounds and ate 60mg of instant release morphine will he sleep it off or die.

Ok,

 

Because of the length of time inducing vomiting at this pint may be ineffective.

The normal dose of morphine for a dog this size would be 3-7.2 mg so this is almost 10xs the dose.

A dose this high can lead to depressed breathing, seizures,coma and death.

I would suggest taking him to your local animal emergency immediately, they can administer activated charcoal to stop further absorption and provide supportive care as needed
