i just woke my puppy up and as i was holding her i went to pent her and she flinched. she seems dizzy... shes walking crooked and shes wobbly. she wags her tail but her ears are back. shes acting like shes drunk... shes running around wagging her tail

Hello, and thanks for your question about your puppy.You did the right thing in giving her some syrup, assuming that she might be hypoglycemic, because disorientation and walking/stumbling like she's drunk can be symptoms of that condition. However, a neurological condition called Vestibular syndrome can also cause a 'drunken' walk, as can an ear infection. Ingestion of a toxic substance can also cause the symptoms you're seeing, especially ingestion of antifreeze. If she had access to your garage and/or she was outside today, this is always a possibility.
