hi. about 20 min. ago and he is a 6 month old dachsund mix.
Thank you.
I'm calculating the dose.
Do you have hydrogen peroxide?
Also, does he have any other medical problems?

the dog is enroute to vet as we speak. not on any meds. will he live?
Hi Rich,
He should be fine. They will induce vomiting and will likely admit him for fluid therapy and monitoring. Naloxone can be used as a partial antedote but will not reverse all of the effects. Works better when given as a constant rate infusion.

Seizures and more life threatening problems develop at ingestions of 25 mg per kg of weight - your dog ingested 18 mg per kg of weight. So, he's at a fairly high dose, but with supportive care (especially if they can get him to vomit ASAP) I would think he will be fine.

He will likely develop pupil dilation, loss of coordination, and may have respiratory depression.

I'm glad you're taking him right in. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Dr.D. The dog seems to be fine. The vet induced vomiting and gave charcol. My anxiety was greatly reduced thanks to your swift response. Thanks again. Rich
Great news! Thank you for the update. I'm glad everything is going to be ok. Please let me know if you need me in the future.

And sorry about your sick baby, too. I'm thinking about you, Rich.
