Hello,

I am sorry your dog is not feeling well.

How old is he?

How long have you had him?

Is he vomiting? Having diarrhea?

How is his appetite?

What kind of weird noises is he making (coughing, grunting)?

Does his belly hurt?

Let me know and I will try to help...

Thank you for the additional information. Decreased appetite, hacking/coughing, and grunting can all point towards a wide range of problems, some very mild and some very serious. Your pup could have anything from intestinal parasites to a virus like parvo, or he could have ingested a foreign object and might be obstructed.....the list goes on and on. Regardless of the cause, symptoms like this can be very serious, especially in a young dog. His immune system is not fully developed yet, and he will deteriorate quickly. He will need to be seen by a vet as soon as possible, and I wouldn't wait too long. At the latest, he should be seen by a vet tomorrow for an exam, fecal panel and maybe some x-rays. The longer it takes to have him seen the more difficult and expensive it can be to make him feel better, and I don't want you to have to hospitalize him if you can avoid it. Please have him seen as soon as you can and let me know if I can be of further assistance. If this has been helpful, please hit the green accept button. Best of luck with your puppy, I hope he feels better soon and that nothing too serious is going on :)
