why does the top of my dogs head get hot when i pet her? she is a 90LB dobe/pit mixed.

Hi there! Welcome to JustAnswer. Your dog's head gets hot when you pet her because the stimulation causes increased blood flow to the skin in that area, and that warms the skin. Similar to the way that, in humans, if you touch or rub a part of your body, sometimes that area will turn red or feel slightly warmer. There is nothing wrong with her... this is totally normal.
