my cha wa wa somehow hurt his front left foot about an hour ago, its swelling and he is putting very little weight on it , although he pulls it away when I try to hold he is not crying in any way. we don't have the money to take him to a vet is there something i can do for the poor thing .

You could give your little guy 1/2 of a baby aspirin and keep him confined for the next several days. Hopefully he just sprained it or badly bruised it, but a fracture is always a possibility.
So give him 1/2 baby aspirin every 12 hours and keep him confined (I go with a crate)--no running, no jumping, no stairs, carry him outside to go to the bathroom, then right back in. But if he isn't improving in the next couple days, you will need to find a way to take him to the vet and have an x-ray of that paw.
