Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your cat, and this discharge is very concerning.

The uterus in an unspayed dog is most susceptible to infection after a heat cycle and if becomes infected, starts to fill with pus. Some of that pus can leak out the vaginal tract, along with blood from the irritation from the bacteria, which is what you are seeing with a milky bloody substance.

Pyometras are what they are called, an infection of the uterus. They are fatal if not treated rather quickly. I strongly suggest not waiting on this but getting her to an open vet hospital now, so they can treated her before she starts to feel ill. Without treatment, the uterus keeps filling with pus and eventually explodes, killing the dog.

Please don't hesitate to reply if I can help further, and I wish you the best of luck.

If needing financial assistance, you can apply for care credit at the hospital.
