Is bay leaf toxic to dogs

Customer Question

I believe one of my dogs (either my Greyhound or one of my Italian Greyhounds) may have eaten a bay leaf.

I am not concerned about the ingestion of a single bay leaf.
Bay leaves are generally safe.
However, it still has the potential to cause a mild gastritis or gastroenteritis. So, I would still keep an eye out for any vomiting or diarrhea, and notify your doctor if any problems arise.
Otherwise, no concerns at this time.
Good Luck
