It is difficult to say exactly how long after you start to feel the pups that they will be born. Typically the gestation length for a dog is 59 to 64 days in length. So given the dates of the possible breeding, your very close to having them born. One of the things that you can do is take her rectal temperature. Once her rectal temp goes below 100, then usually in the next 24 hours the birthing process will begin.

I would highly recommend you getting into your regular veterinarian here very soon to take x-rays to determine how many puppies are to be born. That can really help an owner at home during the birthing process to know how many are going to come out, rather than guessing.

The fact that your little one is a chihuahua means that she has more of a chance of dystocia (not being able to birth the puppies on her own). By visiting with your vet, you can set up an emergency plan if she is not getting them out on her own.

Here is a very good website to read to prepare you for the birthing.

Hope all goes well!
