can I give my dog levaquin for his ear infection

Resolved Question:

My dog has an ear infection. He weighs about 30 pounds and i have access to antibiotics at my work. Is it ok to give him levaquin for this.

It is ok. The dose for dogs is 10 mg/kg/day. But if your dog's ear infection is a mixed type that includes yeast (Malasezzia) it wont do good. I think a cytology of the ear canals should be made and involved organisms should be determined. Also cleaning your dogs ears during the treatment is important too.
