Customer Question

My dog has thin, little, black bugs crawling on him. They seem resistant to flea treatments, as we have sprayed the dog and the house, bathed the dog, applied topical treatments and a flea collar. They look like tiny beetles.

You may be seeing a mite which you can read about here

or you may be seeing 'seed ticks' which are immature ticks early on in their life cycle.

Do be careful with the amount of poisons you use on your dog and in your home. Dogs can get overdosed on flea chemicals.

Pretty much flea collars do not work.

If these are ticks you may find Frontline Plus or a Preventic or Tick Detach collar with amitraz will eliminate them.

It is also possible you have fleas that are resistant to the chemicals you have used to eliminate them Frontline might take care of them too or a product such as Revolution might be another choice.

Hope this helps you!
