can a person get hepatitis a from a dog

This answer was rated:

can a person get hepatitis a from a dog or a dogs fecal matter?

Hepatitis, which as you know is a disease of the liver, is seen in several animals, including humans, and is caused by a viral infection. Canine hepatitis is contracted through the virus designated CAV-1 which is seen ONLY in canines. Humans and other animals are not at risk to contract hepatitis from the CAV-1 virus.

What this means is that no, you can't get hepatitis from your dog or from a dog's fecal matter.

I hope this helps!
