The normal dosage for benadryl is 1 mg per pound of body weight every 8 to 12 hours. The dosage should not exceed 2 mg per pound. Children's benadryl is usually 12.5 mg per teaspoon - but check your bottle to be sure. This means that there is 2.5mg per ml of solution. So a 10 lb dog would get 4ml orally. It usually takes several days of continuous use before there is any improvement. I do recommend checking with your vet prior to starting any new medications. Here is a link for more information.
