I just had my dog spayed and they gave her Lixotinic-Torb Syrup

Resolved Question:

I just had my dog spayed and they gave her Lixotinic-Torb Syrup for pain. What is the Torb part?

Hello. Torb is torbugesic. The generic name is butorphanol. It is an opiod (morphine derivative). It is great for pain control but has a lot fewer side effects. It is used often in cats and dogs for post surgical pain control. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.
