Is Flexeril (a muscle relaxant) safe for dogs

No, Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is not well tolerated in dogs. It can cause depression, ataxia, and weakness at dosages of 0.3 mg/kg and above, so I do not recommend giving this to your dog.

Discuss other pain meds with your vet, if the Tramadol doesn't seem to be doing the job. A pain 'patch' might be a good idea.

He's certainly gone through a lot recently, and I hope he's feeling more comfortable very soon!
