Hi, Melanie.

I'm sorry to hear your dog is so uncomfortable. You certainly did the right thing, in treating for fleas, with K9 Advantix!

You can read about dosage and possible adverse side effects of Benadryl, below, however, you should always consult with your vet, first, before giving your dog any type of medication.

http://www.petplace.com/drug-library/diphenhydramine-benadryl/page1.aspx

As you can see, Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is dosed in dogs at 0.5 to 2 mg per pound (1 to 4 mg/kg) orally, two to three times daily, so if your dog weighs 40 lbs., I'd begin with the lowest dosage and give a 25 mg. tablet.

I hope she's feeling more comfortable, very soon!
