My dog is walking sideways, balance is off, my vet says its ear infection,this come on him quick. Please help me in finding the cause.

You're vet is likely talking about vestibular disease...sometimes known as old dog syndrome. This can come on quickly as he stated. This effects the vestibular apperatice which controls balance. You can read more below :)
