Hi Mlross,

Let me first tell you how sorry I am for your apparant loss. If you are going to bury your dog, you should have the hole be at least 5 feet deep though I have heard people state that 2 1/2 feet is enough. This helps prevent animals from digging the body back up. I also recommend that you have the body placed in a plastic bag to help cut down on the decomposition odor which can attract animals to the grave site. You will also want to make sure that you are allowed by law to bury your dog in the area you have chosen.
