How long can a tapeworm live in a dogs feces

Resolved Question:

We found lil white worms in our dog's poop but are not sure if they are tapeworms or not. Our dog has had tapeworms before (over a year ago) but we only found the segments once dried. Since the worms are alive and kicking wanted to know how long tapeworms can live in the feces? Maybe it's not tape worms.

Tape worms are only segments of a bigger tape worm that is in in the intestinal tract. Tape worms come from the ingestion of Fleas that carry the eggs. The only way to completely get rid of tape worms is to give a medication called Droncit. The article below will explain the life cycle of the Tape worm and the treatments. Joan Jav917
