How much zinc and biotin can a 44 pound dog have daily

Customer Question

I have a Bull Terrier and she has skin rashes, hair loss, severe itching. I would like to treat her with zinc and Biotin to help boost her skin and hair problems. How much can I give her daily? She weighs around 40 - 44 pounds.

Zinc can be very toxic for dogs so if you are going to use a supplement for skin issues I'd only use one specially formulated for dogs such as Derm Caps with Zinc or Linatone with Zinc which have the omega 3&6 fatty acids recommended for skin care as well as the zinc.
This supplement lists the daily dose of those nutrients they provide

Biotin is naturally synthesised from the diet in a dog's intestinal tract.
