my dog has milk coming out of its nipples. does that mean she having pups?

Hi Phoebe,

Milk production usually occurs the last week of pregnancy. During the last week of pregnancy you should also be able to feel puppies. However, unless you are feeling puppies, it is no guarantee that she is pregnant. Dogs do experience false pregnancy and go though all the symptoms of pregnancy including milk production and sometimes even adopt "stuffed animal" puppies. . If there is even the slight possibility she is pregnant, you will want to have her on puppy food.   You can read up on false pregnancy here:
