That's an interesting question! No, they don't have extra skin from being pet too much. Some breeds have more excess skin than others, such as the Sharpei breed, but most all dogs have a few folds of extra skin here and there. Most commonly, there is some extra skin at the back of the neck and between the shoulderblades, which is why many vets give vaccines or fluid therapy in this area.
