Resolved Question:

My german shorthair pointer has a small lump, about the size of a ping pong ball on her right hind quarter and the vet said it was probably just a fatty tumor. It has almost tripled in size this week and her back leg keeps giving out on her. I plan to call the vet tommorow, any ideas?

It might be a more serious tumor than was expected.
You can read about lumps in dogs here
and about causes for them here
You may want to biopsy before going for surgery.
It its something malignant that may make your decision on the next steps to take different.
Hope this helps you!
