How short should my vet dock my min pins tail

Resolved Question:

My female dog had puppies 2 days ago and I would like to know how short should I dock the pups tails? My vet will do the docking but asked me to find out how show should they be. My female is a min pins and the father is too.

Docking is an art as well as a science so hopefully your vet is good at it.
For the Miniature Pinscher you usually leave two to three vertebrae and the tail must be long enough to cover the anus.
I would suggest checking the breeder list on this site
and see if a local show breeder will tell you how long to leave them.
And perhaps the breeder of your dog would be a good resource if you like your dog's tail length.
You can even have the vet check the mom to see hoe many vertebra she has left in her tail to decide how many to leave for the pups.
Hope this helps you!
