Why does my dog keep rubbing her ears on the carpet and what can i do for her

These are itchy ears. That is often associated with allergies eiher to environmental allegens (molds, pollens, insects, etc.) or to foods. You need to take the dog to the vet for an exam and if it is appropriate, the vet can give some steroids to reduce the itching. If there is an infection in the ears, that can be identified and treated as well.
