my dog suddenly has an open sore. can i put peroxide or an anti-bacteria cream on the wound? he's not acting any differently and he doesn't have a fever. it may be a spider bite.

Yes. You can flush the wound with peroxide or betadine and then dry it well. If it's bleeding, apply gentle pressure for up to five minutes. Then apply some neosporin ointment.
