Plain pedialyte works great for dogs who are dehydrated, have diarrhea or are vomiting. It is safe to use.

There are no comparable products, aside from IV fluids.

Is there any reason that there is no comparable product on the market for pets? Do you know if a strictly pet formulated pedialyte would require different ingredients, or is it ok to recommend that pets use the standard formulation?

I'm not sure why there is not a pet specific product for this.

The standard formula is fine for dogs. You can even make your own at home with the following recipe:

4 Tablespoons Sugar
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda
1 Cup Orange Juice
2 Pints Water
