Some people find using a product such as Forbid (from pet supply stores) or Adolphs Original Meat Tenderizer sprinkled on the food just before the dog eats works.
Others find that immediate clean up of the poop works (feces is the spelling you were right!) best for them.
Still other people find that feeding a more digestible food resolves the problem.
Many dog foods have ingredients that are not well digested the first time through. The dogs can smell the nutrition in the stool and so they 'recycle' it. This is so common in dogs the Merck Veterinary Manual lists it as 'normal' dog behavior.
You may find a premium pet food from the pet supply store will help - Canidae (see www.canidae.com) Blue Buffalo, California Natural, Evo etc are all foods that may help with this as they have fewer and better ingredients and may be better digested.
Hope this helps you!

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: I have tried a meat tenderizer with msg in it as out vet suggested but with no luck. Is Forbid similar to a meat tenderizer? She is eating Lifes Abundance which is supposed to be a good quality food. We do not take her out but use pooch pads. We live on the 17th floor and I don't think we could make it downstairs fast enough to get her to the area for dogs about a block away.

Life's Abundance is a good food but it does contain beet pulp (fiber) and dried egg and you might find a food with fewer ingredients she digests better.
You can compare dog foods to yours here

Forbid works on the same idea as the tenderizer in that its enzymes helps to digest the food but I think it also has a bitter additive to make stools taste bad (Forbid doesn't taste bad just the by product of it being digested does).
As you use puppy pads clean up when you are home should be pretty easy too especially if you know her potty schedule.
If she is not on a schedule for feeding but is free fed then I suggest controlling her portions and feeding times may also make it easier. Usually dogs go in relationship to when they eat. When dogs are overfed they don't digest all their food which makes the stool more attractive.
