Get Your Dog Care Questions Answered by Experts
I would certainly start with this. There are a few things that you can do if you suspect that this is a problem. I would start by changing the diet to one that is very bland. Boiled chicken and rice works well and is pretty soothing to the stomach. When there is a flareup, I would feed only this - no table scraps or treats or dog food.
Jarred baby foods work well, too. Just look for one that does not have garlic or onions.
I would also talk with the vet about using an antacid as a preventative.
Let me know if you still have questions.
If the pepto works, and antacid would work even better.
Some choices might include Tagamet, Milk of Magnesia or even prevacid. I would give them a try per your vet's instructions.
If she won't eat the boiled chicken mixture, you can try a little cottage cheese.
I am so glad that I was able to help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for letting me know.
