Hello,'

What is the name of the worm med?

How much did Patches ingest?

How long ago?

After your reply please give me a few minutes to type detailed answer.

Thanks,

Terri

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sentry liquid dewormer.
About 3ml possibly less but no more than 4ml.
It was about last night late, about 10pm. I was barely told of her condition 2hrs ago.
Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

3 ml is exactly what she took?

Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

How much does she weigh?

Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

Dosage is 2.5 ml per 5 lbs of weight so if she weighs 7 lbs 3 ml is not an overdose.

What is she doing now? How is she acting?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She weighs about 6lbs & is 17yrs of age.
Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

Thanks so much for your reply. If she is 6 lbs 3 ml is a slight overdose, she should not be ill from that amount.Could she have had more than 3 ml? How is she acting? is she still trembling?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She is twitching still, disorientated & wants to eat but won't.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She could have had more than the 3ml.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Possibly 4ml but not more than that.

What does she usually eat?

Do you have any milk or tuna in water?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No tuna but milk. She usually eats iams dry senior food & a small amount of wet food as a treat.
Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

Ok, lets see if she will drink an ounce or two of milk.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm trying. She loves milk, perked up when she smelled it but won't drink it.

We are not sure about diabetes. Can we wait to take her to the vet tomorrow or the er today?
Expert:  Terri replied 1 year ago.

Yes, that is the same product. It has a very high safety margin. However, if she was debilitated, it could make her sick.

However, the effects should wear off soon.

Rub a drop of pancake syrup or honey into her gums. That should perk her up.

Offer her milk, canned cat food, tuna or chicken.

warm the milk or food to bring out the aroma

If you can get her to eat a little or drink she can wait till the morning.

BUT due to her age, if she refuses everything or gets any worse she should be see today.

Please write back and let me know how she is doing.

I hope she feels better very soon.
