Hello,

I am sorry Mitzy is ill.

Can I please have more information?

Has she refused to eat for a few days?

What does she usually eat?

Does she have any known health issues or take any medication?

Indoor kitty?

After your reply please give me a few minutes to type detailed answer or if you prefer we can speak on the phone

Thanks,

Terri

Hello Ketti,

It sounds like Mitzi has Hepatic Lipidosis. This is caused by a cat not eating for a few days.

Read more here:

http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_hepatic_lipidosis.html

It is treated with food, food and more food. Plus a medication called Denosyl.

Since you are already seeing jaundice this is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY!

I usually feed A/D warmed and watered down.

If Mitzi refuses to eat a food tube should be installed.

Please let me know how she is doing. I hope all will be well.

Love,

Terri
