Hello,

I am sorry Dolly is not feeling well.

Are you saying she dribbles urine constantly?

Has she had a urinary tract infection?

How long is she like this?
After your reply please give me a few minutes to type detailed answer of if you prefer we can speak on the phone

She had a unrine infection earlier this year and she was on antibiotics for 2 weeks. Then she excreted blood so she went on antibiotics for another 2 weeks. 3 month later she went through the same again. Has a culture test but nothing bad come back. The ultra sound was inconclusive and due to her age they are reluctant to try again.

I'm worried about the meloxicam.

Thanks so much for your very helpful reply.

If the culture came back negative for bacteria she most likely has a condition called interstitial cystitis:

She experiences a burning sensation when she urinates.

The most common cause is a dry food diet. Please read articles written by a feline vet:

If you are concerned about meloxicam (used for pain and inflammation) ask for a different anti-inflammatory like prednisone

You can help by changing her food to canned only (NO DRY at all), upping her fluids and giving 4 drops of cranberry juice every day for ten days by dropper.

Please let me know how she is doing. I hope she feels better very soon.
