Customer Question

I have a 6 year old cat who was bitten by a black widowe. The wound has opened up. I got Veteran and 250 MG amoxicillin. How much should I give him? He is about 12 lbs. I originally gave him benadryl .

Thanks so much for requesting me. I am sorry Graystoke was bitten.....poor baby.
This can be very serious. It can raise his blood pressure and even case paralysis so he should be seen by a vet.
here are two Vets that offer a free first visit:
DOSAGE Amoxicillin is available in 250mg and 500mg capsules. The recommended dose of amoxicillin in dogs and cats is 5-10mg/pound every 12-24 hours. Amoxicillin can be given with or without food as it is stable in gastric conditions.
Go to a health food store and get raw honey. Paint it all over the wound. Re-apply as needed. It is great healer:
Here is treatment information:
If he develops any of the above symptoms he needs to be seen by a vet.
Please let me know how Graystoke is doing.
I hope all will be well.
