Our nine week old kitten suddenly started breathing rapidly

Customer Question

Our nine week old kitten suddenly started breathing rapidly and stopped eating on 9/19. On 9/20 we took her to the vet and they injected her with convenia 80mg/ml and have us use lysine powder to mix in her food. The vet said she is normal except underweight at 1.6 lbs and abnormal lung sounds. We have been attempting to feed her several times a day using a liquid syringe. She breathes mostly with her mouth closed, sometimes it is open. A friend gave her her first vaccination on 9/14. Any ideas?

Dr. Scarlett :

Sorry to hear little Rosie isn't feeling well! Can I get a little more information?

Dr. Scarlett :

Does Rosie sound congested, like she has a cold? Any discharge coming from her nose or eyes? Was she running a fever when you took her to the vet on Wed? Is she eating anything at all?
