Cat is 9yrs. Has always stayed in the house until about 6 weeks ago. She started crying at the doors and started sitting on the kitchen stove. Could not get her to stop. So we let her out in the back yard where she stays. She comes in to eat and play and wants back out. Last week her stomach was huge. But. She was eating and stil playing. This weekend she would not eat she feels like skin and bones with a big belly..Not playing and cannot jump. She has been spayed. From what we can tell she does not have worms in her stools.

Hello,I am so sorry to hear Little Girl is having some trouble. Are her gums nice and pink?Any trouble breathing?
No not pink grayish brown. Breathing is heavy.
Thank you for the additional information .A sudden enlarged abdomen such as you have described and the heavy breathing , while I can not say for sure with out seeing her is most often due to fluid build up in the abdomen. There are many reasons for this to occur. The most common reasons are * Right sided heart failure* Liver or kidney disease* FIP * Cancer.Click here for more on this This does warrant an immediate vet visit. If this is indeed fluid as I suspect this can continue to build eventually making the lungs unable to expand at all. If you can get her in to the ER tonight that would be the best option if not she really needs to be seen as soon as your vet opens in the morning. They will want to do blood work and possibly some x rays. Please let me know what the vet says, please reply back if you have additional questionsCandy
