Hello Karl, and welcome to Just Answer.I'm so sorry to hear that your furry girl is experiencing several medical problems.I just have a few questions for you that will enable me to understand her situation better and send you the most complete answer. When your kitty was having her teeth cleaning and her tonsils were found to be enlarged, were her tonsils removed? If not, was she put on antibiotics at that time? How long ago was that? What was the ultrasound of? Here abdominal region (pancreas) and/or throat? What did the throat biopsy show?Is she eating, drinking and eliminating as usual?Any vomiting and/or diarrhea? What pain medication, antibiotics and antacids is she currently on?Has she had any neurological work ups at all? Thanks for all your additional detail.CherJessesmom41039.0369762732

Hi again, Karl and thanks very much for your reply with additional and helpful information. Yes, it all came through and I thank you for your patience. I had a lot to type! : )It does sound like you're heading in the right direction, after the tests and diagnoses that have been made. Here is more detailed information about pancreatitis in cats:http://pets.webmd.com/cats/pancreatitis-catsI'm glad to hear that there is no vomiting/diarrhea, or weight loss; this is a good sign! You also seemed concerned about her eye when you said: "She wakes up out of a dead sleep shakes her head and her right eye willclose and she runs and growls..."These symptoms sound like she may be experiencing a seizure in her sleep and that's why I asked if she has had any kind of neurological workup. Here is more information:http://www.vetinfo.com/cat-seizures-while-sleeping.htmlIt's also possible that a sharp pain is awakening her and causing her to run around and growl. The shaking of her head and closing of her eye may be related to the problem with her throat, if that is causing pain. If she recovers withing a few moments, that's good, but the cause of this behavior needs to be more closely evaluated, and a veterinary neurology specialist may be the best one to do this. There is another condition called feline hyperesthesia, which is related to seizures and in this case, the cat will suddenly feel like she is experiencing pain, the skin on her back will ripple or 'roll' and she will take off running for no obvious reason. Here is additional information for you to read: http://www.petplace.com/cats/feline-hyperesthesia/page1.aspxIt sounds from your description, as if there were some serious miscommunications between you and your (first?) vet and the vet's staff. It's very important that you feel comfortable and confident in your vet's treatment of your cat and his/her communication with you. Since you are now on vet number 3, I hope you have found this desirable combination, so you feel that you and your kitty are in good hands.Your cat has her young age on her side, so hopefully, all the treatments prescribed for her various ailments will help her feel better and the pancreatitis will resolve and not return.I hope all will be well with your furry girl!
