I need advise to stop my cat from scratching at door frames. I think its both his way to get attention to go in or out the door. sometimes he just scratches at bedrm door to get my attention. He has a cardboard scratch pad which he also uses daily.

Well, a few ideas to try.
1. New scratch pad. Get both a vertical one and a horizontal one that lays flat.
2. You need to address any potential stress/anxiety from being indoors or caused by anything else.

3. Double -sided tape instead of foil can work sometimes.
