How old is your cat?

When you say the gums are turning black, do mean the gums as a whole are turning, or are there black speckled like pigments on the gums? (like little dots or freckles)

He is eating and drinking normally?

any trouble breathing?

are his eyes or skin yellow?

Can you clarify your answer to question 2 please?

Is it yes to the gums as a whole turning color?

Or is it yes to little freckle like pigments?

Thank you in advance for the additional information.

Great, thank you so much for all the info.

I have good news! She's fine. This is a common thing that happens when cats get older. The best way to describe it is like liver spots. It is just hyper pigmentation that occurs to the gums. It can also happen to skin around the thin fur areas around the ears too.

She's just getting older, and showing her age.

Let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Sincerely, Micki
