ARE GECKOS AND LIZARDS HARMFUL TO CATS

This answer was rated:

We are in Florida and my cat had a lizard or gecko. Should I worry if he eats one>
Hi,

I'm in Florida as well, and see those small lizards everywhere. Most lizards are not harmful to cats, but there are specific species that may be poisonous. If your cat hunts the lizards, try not to let him eat them, just to be on the safe side.

If he does eat one and/or if you notice vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, decreased appetite, difficulties breathing, bring him to the vet, immediately for evaluation and treatment.
