Have Cat Questions? Ask a Cat Vet Online.
It really depends on the cat, but not longer than a few days. How long has it been since your girl went?
Is she bloated or crying or hiding?
Is she eating okay?
Is she urinating okay?
Standing by to help...
doesn't seem to be bloated
Not really crying
seems to be eating ok so far
When was her last bowel movement?
Great...thanks for the info.
As long as she is not showing any signs of distress that I have mentioned above, we can try some home remedies to help her, but I would not wait longer than tomorrow if you get nothing by then.
Don't try all at once though. My favorites are whole milk or canned pumpkin. If your kitty becomes lethargic, starts hiding, or crying, or is in pain when you touch her, she will need to go to the vet. Other things you can try are: Laxatone ( can be bought at most pet stores), fiber supplements such as citrucel, or 1/4-1/2 tsp mineral oil in his food. Each remedy should produce a bowel movement within 3 to 4 hours, so try one in the morning and one in the evening if you still get nothing. Warmest Wishes,Reani
