my cat got her tail stuck in the door and it pulled the fur off about 3 inches...will it grow back and does she need vet assistance?
She is eating fine and I gave her pain meds

Hi,

when did this happen?

is the bone of the tail exposed?

Thanks,

Terri

Reply to Terri Riba's Post: It happened last night, door slammed shut.
The tail (bone) is exposed about 2 inches, seems to have stopped bleeding.
She is eating and purring and seems to be ok, we are worried about infection

Dear XXXXX,

This injury is called a degloving.YES! you baby needs to be seen by a vet ASAP because bacteria can enter the wound and go directly to the spinal cord and brain so she is in very serious danger. Please take her in immediatelty.

Please let me know how she is when you get back.
